PhD from Sorbonne (Paris 6). International Math Olympiad Medal winner.

My PhD academic lineage, traced through doctoral advisor relationships via the Mathematics Genealogy Project, includes: Me → My advisor → Borel → Darboux → Chasles → Poisson → Lagrange → Euler → Bernoulli, Laplace → d'Alembert → Leibniz.

Served as one of the main developers of one of the biggest math competition preparation programs in the USA. Worked as a scientific researcher for a European Commission-sponsored project in Paris. Doctor of Mathematical Sciences in the USA and France, M.S. from Germany and Austria. Served as one of the Team Leaders at the Harvard-MIT Math Tournament (HMMT) and an invited speaker at Imperial College London. Took part in International Mathematical Olympiads in the United Kingdom, Japan, and Greece.

Served as President of the Assembly of Delegates and member of the Management Board of CIUP (~10,000 students from 162 nationalities) during the year the institution was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

Erdős Award 2022 winner (one of the highest international awards in mathematics, for having a significant role in the development of mathematical challenges worldwide and for having been a stimulus for the enrichment of mathematics learning).

The author of one of the most difficult problems ever proposed in the history of the International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO). It is considered to be one of the hardest problems ever as none of the members of the strongest teams (national Olympic teams of China, USA, Russia) succeeded to solve it correctly and because national Olympic team of China (the strongest team in the IMO) obtained a cumulative result equal to 0 points and was ranked 6th in the final ranking of the countries instead of the usual 1st or 2nd place.

The British film X+Y, released in the USA as A Brilliant Young Mind, inspired by the film Beautiful Young Minds (focuses on an English mathematical genius chosen to represent the United Kingdom at the IMO) also states that this problem is the hardest problem in the history of the IMO (minutes 9:40-10:30).

Sedrakyan's students have received around 20 medals in the International Mathematical Olympiad, including Gold and Silver medals.

Collectively, the Sedrakyans have authored over 20 books and more than 100 articles across several countries—including the USA, Switzerland, South Korea, and Russia—on the topics of problem-solving, Olympiad-style mathematics, and scientific research. Their work includes the proof of several novel theorems, formulas, and inequalities, often bearing their name—sometimes alongside their co-authors. Notable examples include Sedrakyan's inequality, the Sedrakyan's area formula, the Sedrakyan's power sums triangle, generalizations of the Napoleon's, Van Aubel's, and Menelaus's type theorems, the Trapezoid Law, the Trapezoid Theorem, as well as several novel theorems in distance geometry.
